ORCHESTRAL Excerpts COMPETITION
NAMUR * 2025

For the first time this year, the FESTIVAL is organizing an Orchestral Performance Competition open to high-level double bass players.

Where and when?

It will be held in a large room at the Conservatory, on the site of the Grand Manège
in NAMUR (Belgium)
The test will take place behind a curtain, in the presence of a Jury of internationally renowned double bass players.
Other spaces will be available for individual work.
August 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

How much?

Participation fees in this Competition: 50 euros .

KD von DITTERSDORF: Concerto (1st movement with cadenza)
BEETHOVEN: Recitative 9th Symphony
BEETHOVEN: Scherzo & Trio 5th Symphony
MOZART: Mvt 1&4 of the 40th symphony
BRAHMS: Beginning of the 4th movement of the 2nd symphony
MAHLER: Solo from the 1st Symphony
STRAVINSKY: Solo by Pulcinella
VERDI: Solo from Othello
R. STRAUSS: A Life of Hope
BRUCKNER: 1st mvt of the 7th symphony
