International Competition for Double Bass Making and Bow Making for Double Bass * NAMUR 2025
The Double Bass and Bow Making Competition is open to the many artisans and creators who are keen to offer quality instruments to today's double bass players.
The jury will be composed of eminent double bass players: Thierry Barbe, Zhaoyang Chang, Petru Iuga, Barry Green, Miloslav Jenilek, Tianyang Liu, Mark Morton, Martin Rosso, Stefan Schaefer, Dan Styffe, Xia Yang and chaired by Thomas MARTIN (bows) as well as expert luthier Stefan KRATTENMACHER (double basses).
The results of the competition will be announced on August 22 at 1 p.m.
Permanent exhibition
The permanent exhibition will be held at the Grand Manège every day of the Festival between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.!
How much?
The participation fee is 150 euros for one instrument or bow and 100 euros for each additional instrument.
