Sven is a must-see! Always present at our Festival, you can also find him at many other prestigious venues… He expertly presents beautiful double basses and numerous bows!

Sven-Henrik Gawron began playing the double bass in 1969, at the age of 12, and continued his studies at the Folkwang Conservatory in Essen, Germany.

From a very early age, he took pleasure in adjusting his instruments to make them as comfortable as possible and taught himself the art of repairing double basses.

Since 1988, he has run a specialist workshop offering a full range of services: repair, restoration, tuning and sound optimization.

Over time, his workshop has become an essential reference for the international community of double bass players.

In 2014, he discovered a new passion: collecting and restoring high-quality antique double bass bows.

Today he owns one of the most important collections of double bass bows in Europe, which he presents at numerous workshops and competitions dedicated to the instrument.
